Print Primer

REPLACE
Aluminum foils for pharmaceutical and food packaging that are printed for decorative or informative purposes are coated with a print primer as a first layer. This material can be clear or colored and is applied directly to the foil with a roll coater. It provides a barrier and adhesion layer to the foil on which ink and subsequent functional coatings can be applied. The print primer adhesion to the aluminum metal surface is crucial to the performance of the entire packaging structure. Jamestown produces water based and solvent based print primers that are designed to accommodate many different ink compositions.

Coatings for Disposable Aluminum Cookware

REPLACE
These coatings provide two main functions for formed container aluminum products - protection and decoration. Coated products give scratch and scuff resistance as well as food release and barrier properties for baking and cooking. They protect the aluminum from corrosion and degradation and provide additional water and frost shedding. Brightly colored decorative effects can be obtained along with printed patterns to enhance the appearance of the container. Designs range from flat black to a holiday multicolor print.
