Two-Component Coatings
Types of products Jamestown produces fall into two categories: Epoxy and Urethane. Both are made up of a base component - Part A - and a curing agent or activator - Part B. These are mixed in a specified ratio, with the mixed coating required to be used in a certain time period referred to as "pot life". When A and B are mixed together, a chemical reaction begins which gives the product its enhanced protective qualities when applied onto the substrate.
2K Epoxy
These products are used as primers or single coat systems where adhesion to the substrate and chemical resistance are required. They provide durability and corrosion resistance in harsh conditions such as chemical plants, paper mills, and rail cars.
2K Urethane
These are primarily used as a single coat or topcoat where hardness, gloss and color retention, and solvent resistance are required. They provide extended exterior durability over typical air-dry products and can be applied over various primers to boost corrosion protection.
